Description: Peter's PhageStat (Environment for maintaining a stable population of evolving virus) continues to progress. I hope to have it up and running in time for show and tell at Innatrix (September). A PhageStat is built on top of a CellStat (Environment for maintaining production of E. coli host cells), which is, in turn, built on top of a Turbidostat (to maintain cell density with optical feedback) and a ThermoStat (to keep the host cells at 37C (98.6 F).
Equipment: Deniz Chen donated an Electroporator and we bought the PCR thermocycler from FabLab Carolina.
Software: SnapGene($$) is awesome for constructing plasmids, but need an open-source alternative. Currently evaluating ApE
