President

Heard back from Cary, our building manager's manager. Meeting with him tomorrow to pick up key fobs, and to communicate our issues with the sewage smell.

Vice-President

We're now locked into a Splat Space and Atomic Empire Games co-event. A calendar invite will go out on the mail list. Asking for volunteers who can show off a game they designed or an Arduino device or something cool. There will also be a large gaming tournament going on during our event. The event was published on meetup.com today.

We have multiple public service opportunities coming up. This Thursday from 6-8 PM is the Efland Cheeks Math and Science Night. I need somebody to help run squishy circuits. No registration with the school system is required for this event.

Last Robot Camp for the year is February 23rd. Must register with the school system using this year's new form to help. Students are 5th graders.

Baby Blue needs some new cables soldered in to improve its performance. Volunteers welcome to do the soldering, or I'll get to it at a later time.

Offers a set of multi-use crimpers ($35 value) to the space. Space accepts.

Public Relations

Earlier this week, Jeff called for media (pictures, videos). Send them to me and I'll post them on the blog. Send a link to your own blog if you have one, or links to your own videos hosted somewhere else. We need more content on our blog.

I have deployed ThinkUp (aggregates public opinion on Twitter, Facebook, etc.). Hope to show it off next week. Plan to give data access to everyone.

Google Analytics is on our TODO list, but not currently configured.

Jeff:

I found a game at the Scrap Exchange, but it's missing a game piece. Will try to print a game piece.

In the rear of the space is the last of the old film processors. It needs disassembled so the parts can be used.

I have an extra Raspberry Pi if you're interested in buying one.

Pete:

I've been asked to repeat the Raspberry Pi talk at Tech Shop. Plans to present it in the next few weeks. Date will be announced when it's decided.

I've been working with an ecologist at NC State on a butterfly survey device. We'll find a way to publish our design soon. Nearly ready to test the PCB prototypes in the field. The device logs compass bearings for the purpose of tracking butterfly motion in the field.

Darren:

I was at Scrap Exchange and found a box to hold keys, fobs, donations, checks, etc. The box needs new locking hardware and a slot cut to drop paper.

Alan:

I got the parts to build a 3D projector driven by a Raspberry Pi. If anyone's interested in working on that, let me know and I'll give you the box of parts to put it together and play with it.

I had this idea for a co-variant/dependency-tracking variable concept.

Shaw:

I have Ardweeny kits but I forgot to bring them. I'll bring them next week.
