In preparation for what might be a move to a much larger, higher-traffic location and an expected boost in membership, I think we should explore the behavioral codes / Codes of Conduct used in other makerspaces and tech spaces. Here are some links:
The Recurse Center: https://www.recurse.com/manual#sec-environment/
They have both Lightweight Social Rules (suggestions) and an actual CoC.
Pydata Carolinas: https://pydata.org/carolinas2016/diversity/code-of-conduct/
DefCon/ DC919: https://dc919.net/conduct/
Skullspace: https://skullspace.ca/rules-policies/ scroll down to Excellence Incident handling (not quite the same, but related): https://skullspace.ca/incidents/
The Scrap Exchange: Ann said that they do not have any except for employee policies, but that she is exploring it.
Double Union: https://doubleunion.org/policies Please note that this COC is MUCH more detailed and comprehensive than most. DU is an extremely progressive institution, and the coc spells out many things that I think are subsumed or lumped together in others.
