Efland-Cheeks Elementary school has many opportunities for volunteering with kids:

Robot Camp

October 26 and February 22 (9 AM to 3 PM)

Robot Camp is an event for 5th graders, where kids are paired up and given a mentor, and they build robots.

Contact Orange County Schools for a background check for the Robot Camp events. Background checks are required and they are free if done before September 31.

Math and Science Night

Thursday, February 13th

No background check is required for Math and Science Night.

Splat Space will represent itself at the Shoeboxed Fall Startupfest, October 10 (5 PM - ?)

Google will be bringing Google Glass to Bay 7 at the American Tobacco Campus on Saturday, October 5. Demos and Q&A will happen.

Google named Durham as one of its technology hubs. Google now advertises some kind of relationship with the American Underground.

Ordered food cultures for natto, tempeh, others. Needs to borrow a mill that will crack soy before fermentation.
