Secretary

Explains nomination process and voting process by paper ballot.

Public Relations

This past year we've connected our blogs to Twitter and Tumblr so it's automatically syndicated. We consolidated our social media account information. We've started gathering some metrics, but there is still work to do. Approximately 50% increase in Twitter followers. Facebook reach increased by 15% (as reported by Facebook metrics).

In the coming year I would like to get better metrics in place, and to improve our web presence, and to better get our message out to local press.

New Business

Tonight we vote on all board positions for the next 1 year term.

Election Results
  • President: Shaw Terwilliger
  • Vice President: Joe Diver
  • Treasurer: Mike Broome
  • Secretary: Darren Boss
  • Members at-large:
    • Jon Sackett

Asks if anyone is interested in having a public membership directory for Splatspace with contact information?

Do we have any plans to use the whiteboard panels? The Raleigh makerspace is in need of whiteboards.

Proposes combining the gray cabinet containing electronic parts with the card-catalog containing electronic parts. No objections.

Lenore R.

I've been hanging out at Spoonflower for the last few months. Spoonflower is a company that allows you to submit images to be printed on custom fabric. They offer free sewing classes in the evenings.

Matt D.

We should create a mailing list for 3D printing.

Sean A.

TA3M is this Monday at 7. The topic this month is peer-to-peer and other new Internet protocols and applications. We'll watch highlights from a video called "You broke the Internet, we're going to build ourselves a GNU one" featuring leading voices behind the movement for new protocols for an open Internet.

Pete S.

On Thursday Splatspace is hosting the TriLUG meeting. People will show off stuff that's of interest to the Linux community. There will be food and beverages, and we're asking for help financing the food. Please RSVP at trilug.org.
