Did not add to the tool or maintenance funds because we were not net positive.

Remember: Our 3 month rent buffer in the bylaws is $4682.55.

Because of moving and life events and fun stuff like that, we've lost a few full members in the past 3 months, but gained a few associate members (yay!). We'll need to add at least 4 full members or at least 8 associate members, plus figure out a way to get everyone to pay dues on time to get to breaking even.

Secretary
  • Active Membership tally as of 5/05/15:
    • Student Members: 2
    • Associate Members: 9 (up by 3 since February)
    • Full Members: 22
  • Active members are defined as members who have paid their dues within the last 3 months and have not actively resigned their membership.

In the past we've gotten members by people finding us on Meetup, seeing us out at events and by word of mouth. We just need to keep doing cool stuff! Post your projects, tweet to @splat_space on Twitter, join the Flickr group pool and remember to RSVP to events you're already going to on Meetup, because this attracts more people.

Public Relations

Offers to post any quick write-ups of projects members are working on. Just bring in the project and he can help document it.

Currently compiling videos from the Burlington Mini MakerFaire for the site. Should be ready next week.

At-Large

Durham Hamfest is the Saturday before Memorial Day. Not intending to have an official presence there.

We gave a tour to two local miniatures groups over the weekend. Showed 3D printing and other fabrication capabilities.

Experimenting with pen holders for the Roland plotter. If these work we can use it as a 2 foot-wide plotter.

Did a test-milling over the weekend for the Raleigh Charter High School. Podium with the logo on it, constructed from foam.

Also working on Shape-oko clips for our system.

On Friday visisted the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the MIT-affiliated Fab Lab at NCCU. They're planning a music hack-a-thon in September.

Displays crest that includes Sarah's Raptorcorn logo.
